Bubba strikes again !

During my front-end rebuild I found several things assembled incorrectly and evidence everwhere that Bubba could barely work on cars, let alone a vette !
Oh simple things like the sway bar on wrong (metal to metal) and the coil springs not fully seated.....and beat :smash: marks from where Bubba had some trouble getting the bushings to seat.....so on and so forth....

Vote below or enter your most INFAMOUS or RIDICULOUS strike of Bubba on your vette.

Square bore Holley on a quad manifold
water pump had 3 correct 3/8" bolts and 1 7/16" short bolt
running a tach distributor without the gear for the cable
temp sensors in each head - only one hooked up

just getting started

STPMAN...is that a bubba emergency brake I see on the back wheel of your vette??? :smash:

Re: Bubba strikes again ! (verskel)

Bubba drilled a hole in the fan shroud and a piece of wire to prevent the shrould from being hit with the fan. Bubba should have just loosened a couple of bolts and repositioned the shroud.

Bubba had cut and blocked all vacuum lines. Turns out that the only thing wrong was a bad vacuum switch and EGR valve.

When Bubba sold me the car, he said it needed another carb and offered me a "real deal" on square bore Holley.

Bailing wire and bubble gum will fix anything.

Bubba hooked a wrong wire to "repair" the ac/heater blower moter. When I got the car the blower didn't work. The "quick fix" was a total rebuild of the the fried switches, wires, moter, etc. about $700.00 for parts and labor.

I voted for bubba never touching my vette. I was wrong.

Istalled cheap foreign produced brake calipers on all four corners.

replaced the rear ones last year... leaking like a sieve. front ones are still holding together. on my list to do.

While cleaning up engine and valve covers, found where bubba had used a lug nut to stop up the hole in the valve cover where the vent tube goes to the breather. Then took a pcv valve and taped it to the lug nut to make it look functional. Now That Is BUBBA"D. :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:

Seems like every time I take something off my car I find where "Bubba" has been hard at work. My car has been put back together with more wood screws than I car to remember. The front bumpers were put on the car with 3 inch bolts that had a stack of 5 washers and a lug nut to take up the slop. The nuts on the bumpers were actually welded to the car side of the bumper, making nice little holes in the body. The headlight switch was wired up using lamp cord and wire nuts. I could go on. It makes me crazy.

Holy cow! So the back of the Kraco 6x9 speakers from K-mart were just going to be exposed to the open road!!

Re: Bubba strikes again ! (Steve Straus)

Bubba didn't even measure before he cut. The speakers wouldn't have fit, due to the gas tank behind (removed in the picture).
