C5 Brake Upgrade Q??
Will a 4 wheel C5 brake upgrade (for my 84) change my wheel offset? I see that the C5 rotors are thicker then even the j55 rotors on a ZR1 or GS...I am trying to piece a Z06 set together...
I am running 17" A molds on all 4 corners now... Thanks! |

No. But you dont need the C5 rear brakes

Unless you are into some sort of competition the 12" stock brakes work fine. (a master cylinder bias spring helps)
I have heard of people moving the 13" fronts to the rear but you lose the E brake. Check the Superior Chevrolet web site, Jeff Kopp had some info on rear C-5 conversions there. |

Unless you are into some sort of competition the 12" stock brakes work fine. 84-87s were smaller, and 84 had no ABS. |

Dominic, Did you do the rears as well? What rotors did you go with? Seems like I am following everything you have done! ZF, Brakes.... LOL! |
Re: C5 Brake Upgrade Q?? (byte_me)
I bought C5 calipers and rotors from someone that replaced his with ZO6 brakes after only 11k miles. The rears are stock. I used Green Stuff Pads and new rotors in back. Would have liked to use Slotted Rotors. Really no need to bother with larger brakes in back. I did do a reproportioning spring from Rippie because of the bigger fronts. It stops right now.
