heater core replacement in a 78

After owing my car since 98, I replaced the heater core this weekend. Started on friday afternoon about 3:30 pm and in about 2 hours the core assembly was out. I only removed the center console and loosened the passenger side dash, but did not remove the dash assembly. Seats also came out. Went sat. moring and picked up new hoses, clamps and cutoff valves to stop the hot air in the summertime. By about 5 pm sat afternoon I had everything back together except the seats back, with a proper functioning heater with cutoffs in the hoses.

So fellow later C3 owners the heater core can be changed without totally removing the entire dash assembly. It will be nice to :steering: on cool mornings when some heat is needed. Very satifying feeling to do such an involved repair.
