repairing aluminum wheels

A few months ago I slammed over some natsy potholes (great roads in PA :mad ), and have have since found out that one of my wheels got out of round (as evidenced by the minor wobble on the wheel balancer). A local tire shop just sent it to a repair service in Delaware. The guy commented that he's not entirely sure that 2-piece alum wheels can be repaired. If it can be fixed, the cost of $50-$150 for the job would be well worth it to me. I'm really hoping anyway. I love my '90 stock wheels, and the prospect of paying $800-$1000 or so for a quality aftermarket set makes me sick to my stomach, given the major outlay of funds on peerformance mods which are soon to be installed.

I also have to replace the LTPWS sensor, as it was destroyed. I just love the lovely
PA roads in some places :mad

Does anyone have experience with getting theirs repaired? Are my prospects good, or bad?

Brad, Wheel collision center in bath pa. I had all 4 done 10 years ago. They took wheels that you would have thrown away and repaired/refinished them with a lifetime warrantee. All 4 cost me $410
