Muffler inlet/outlet - both offset?
going with Flowmaster 40's for 75 350 auto with Dynomax headers. Are the inlet/oulet both offset? I believe the ones I remember seeing were and I want to keep the stock look. Search did not reveal answer.

I believe they are center in and offset out or the other way around.

My 74 and most of the pipes I've seen in the supplier catalogs are offset on both ends. Here's a pic of my stock mufflers:

Notice that the inlet and outlet positions are reversed because the kit supplied inlet pipes are shorter than the stock ones. I have 40's on my '80 and they are offset inlet and outlet.

Gary, why are they canted like that? I remember seeing them before and I was inquisitive then, so I thought why not ask :seeya

So they don't hang down from the sides,the older cars were angled too. This picture was taken from 3" under the car.

I have a 74 and have mine like vetfxrs. A guy in town had his done at the local garage and they stood them on end :crazy: But after seeing their work, I wouln't take a skate board to them :lol:
