seat weight?
 

just curious how much a nonsport seat in a 96 should weigh. didnt know how much advantage in weight savings there would be to remove it when racing

I've had both sport seats out of my '88 and guess they each weigh around 20lb, complete with track.

You will get a substantial weight reduction from removing the spare & jack (40-50lb) and launching with 1/3 tank of fuel (6.6lb/gal) vs a full tank. This weight reduction combo is worth about .1sec off your ET and 1mph gain at the stripe.

22lbs without the track, not sure what the track weighs as I didn't remove it.

Hmmm, I must be stronger than I thought; the track weighs maybe 8-10lb.

Std seats will be a little lighter than sports, but the track should weigh in about the same.
