Electric Locks (not working)
Need some advise...
While working on my door panels I accidentally shorted out my power lock switch and blew the fuse. Just replaced the fuse but they still don't work... Any ideas what to look at now? Thanks Ed |

Closely check the wiring at the switch. Something may have broken or burned, that wiring is kinda flimsy.

Re: Electric Locks (80TexasC3)
The door locks are a looped circuit. Meaning one switch controls both actuators. So, take off the door panels and go to the switch connector on one side. Test the power there first. If you have power at the switch, you can jump across to the other wire and you should hear the actuator work. If you don't then check the connector on the bottom of the actuator. Do this on both sides. I'll bet money you have knocked a connector loose or you have a switch that is not making contact.
If you have power at the switch and you jump around it and it works, then your switch is the problem. Check the terminals that are inside the connector and make sure that they are making contact with the switch post. Red |

Re: Electric Locks (REDRED62)
Do the electric lock run off of the same fuse as the guage and interrior lights? Also, is there a relay in the system? If so, where?
Thanks Ed :steering: |
