What is the status on US availablilty? Are there any Test mule results? What about US Approved shops, anybody on board yet? Thanks, Ross |

gpflepsen, GM shortened the shifter handle length and modified the shift linkage a bit. Reviews I've read said it's nice enough that most people won't bother to get an aftermarket shifter, but it's not like it buttery smooth. Also, the much respect Race Car Engineering ran a article on the Zeroshift, http://www.zeroshift.com/res/content...eering0204.pdf. I for one would like to see the US availablility "RUSHED" and not put on the "back-burner"! 2006 seems WAY to slow to get this on our soil. Ross |
syncros are remove and your parts are installed - correct?

I have just read that they are using a new sequential gearbox, so that rules out C5R as a proving platform for Zeroshift. Man that would have been cool :) The C5R uses a sequential shift racing gearbox (with dog engagement instead of synchros) so no clutch is needed for upshift/downshift. I'm sure there have integrated a n ignition cut on the upshifts and throttle blips on the downshift algorithms to help smooth things out and increae endurance for th long races. It used to be a Hewland box in years past. It may all be moot when the new GM 6spd auto makes it way into the C6. Then you have the good ratio spread, full auto capability, and full tunability - with just a bit more parasitic loss. An LS7 would help on that end. |
New article explaining indepth operation of the Zeroshift, but sadly still no transmission you can buy as of today.

Anyone had an educated guess of what it would cost to put the new 6 speed c-6 auto (when available) into a c-5.
