Who will ignore the column lock recall?
Just got mine in the mail, now I like my dealership but all they have done is regular services in which I can wait for the car. The car is running great so I don't know. So what are you gonna do, let the dealer have at it or pass.

Uh... pass! Easy choice for me. I'm not letting them anywhere near my PCM. :D

I filed both my notices!
Did the CLB. :D |

Will not let Dealer touch my Corvette ! Save the Wave.>George

If I had an A4, I would take it in because they disable the cl. But, with an M6, I can't see any benefit except for documentation purposes in a class-action or liability suit . . .
My CLB stays. :yesnod: |

:iagree: :iagree: besides I put in the CLB back in March. |
I have the CLB (I think.... the column NEVER locks) - so there is absolutely no reason why I'd want someone goofin' around with my PCM. Not to mention that I'd rather not take my car in there and have them give it a suntan (let it sit out in the sun all day, and then spend 5 minutes at the end of the day before the leave). :leaving:

I've got an appointment with my dealer to have the recall done later this month. (Plus now I can have my new Vette Essentials two-tone steering wheel put on for free! :willy:) I have an A4 and I don't have the CLB so its a no-brainer. If I had a 6-speed though, I'd have to pass. I have a specially tuned PCM that I wouldn't want it screwed up.

I'll pass.

Pass

Pass.... I have the CLB.

Do not ignore the recall. Get it done and recorded. And if you already haven't installed a by-pass then do so right after the recall is applied.
Recalls expire at some point and that could hurt you when it comes time to sell the car. I know if I were buying a used car I'd wwant to know "if have all the recalls been applied"? I already have a by-pass and plan on having my dealer do the recall. Tom |
The only thing I want is the fix they have for the pinging problems and the fuel guage, their column lock recall they can wear over to their mothers house because it will not be in my car.
|
I did...CLB 4 + years ago..no more worries
|
Goin to send them my bill for the CLB and be a PIA.
:D |
I had the second recall done while it was in for other warranty work (first one was done before I bought my Z). That was Friday...Saturday, I installed my Predator tune (capturing the factory PCM data) and Sunday the CLB went in. I have the latest PCM flash as well as no more chances with the CLB installed.

With my mod motor and dyno tune (reprogram of computer) the fix won't take on my 00 M6 according to Service Manager. Passing, car nearly 5 yrs old. Roll the dice! Said recall notice is good forever.

supposedly my '04 z16 had it done before i picked it up in May 04.

My entire locking assembly has been removed...long ago when the CL
first started showing up in 99' and 2000. That was even before the CLB was offered. I did get the Recall papers in the mail last week though. |
