axle seal leak, this makes no sense , but,

It was leaking and I cleaned it up with Brakekleen and it stopped. :yesnod:
It's been about a week without a drop or a drip that I can see :D
Maybe it swelled the rubber. :skep:
Gonna see how long this lasts. :chill:

Maybe there was just a bit too much fluid and it was coming out the vent??

nope, right side was leaking and I could see the trail coming from the seal.

mine showed no signs of leaking for about 1500 miles after cleaning with water.---- its back--- mine appears to leak from the axle seal. I plan on changing it this fall, thanks to all the info i learned on this forum--- thanks patches, dope, c5tech,mike mercury---and many others

still no leak
still wondering if the brakekleen caused the seal to swell  .

How much play do you have on the left axle where it goes into the diff?

I think my carrier bearing is going. I have a bit of play on that axle and the seal is toast.

gee , I didn't even check :banghead:

LH seal cover and seal replacement

Mine leaked 3 times.

This time, dealer will replace lh cover AND seal.

Glad to see they are trying new cover.....I think it could be a machining issue.
