Who else is up to it?

adamsocb 07-26-2001 08:39 PM

I am signed up, but the prospect of over 300 cars is somewhat intimidating. I will probably go to the start and see what the crowd looks like, then make the decision weather or not to join the run.

BlackOps 07-26-2001 10:46 PM

I will show up for the start, if I can get out of door hanging at a friends house. Perhaps the Vettes that don't want to make the run can make a run up the coast after for breakfast?

89_FX3_6-spd 07-26-2001 11:59 PM

Don,

Sounds like a great idea.

I will try to look at my brakes / wheel bearings tomorrow or Sat. because i notice the left front wheel is noticably hotter than the rest. http://www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/rolleyes.gif It may be time to get dirty.

Regards, Jim

Too many cars - not manageable, imho.

Black ZR1 07-27-2001 01:25 AM

I'll be at a car show in Arroyo Grande, near Pismo Beach. Lots of Vettes http://www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/biggrin.gif

McShagger 07-27-2001 02:56 AM

If its not too late, I would like to join. I would like to hook up with the other vette owners. Maybe Geno since he is the only other guy with a '92 Vette. http://www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/biggrin.gif All the rest of the vettes are pretty nice cars. Give me an email if you want to hook up.

I'll be there at the start, but the run is a bit too crowded for me. It'll be nice to meet a few of you up at the starting point.

I know that you guys probably aren't interested, but there is a mustang show at the SM Air Museum just a couple blocks away.
I'm up for breakfast if you don't mind a Dodge guy hanging around.

Brad

two reasons why I will pass on this ride, 1. to many cars to have much fun, 2. I already got one ticket on the route they are going, this many cars will attrack the police like flies to $hit. One more ticket and I'll be walking.
Ira

I might go on the cruise and had already decided on going to the Mustang show as I'm nearly finished with my '65 convertable.

I agree with Steve.

McShagger 07-27-2001 05:38 PM

I am starting to think that there are too many cars also. Maybe us vette owners could take a cruise someplace elsee?

Tri-Tip 07-27-2001 08:07 PM

Breakfast sounds good to me. See you guys at the meeting place.

Gundam Z06 07-27-2001 09:54 PM

Depending on how Carlsbad Raceway goes on Saturday. If I go.

I am might be there for the start. But will not go on the cruise.

Cruising along the coast back to OC sounds good to me. http://www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/biggrin.gif

Maaayyybeee.?..... http://www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/confused.gif

Oh my buddy with his 01 Neon R/T will be with me.

BlackOps 07-29-2001 07:09 AM

Vettes, and Viper, If you have a FRS radio, tune to channel 5-0 when you arrive at the meeting place. Jim has an '89 with a wing, look for him. We'll strategize from there, sorry for the late post.

BlackOps 07-29-2001 11:53 PM

Hey, this turned out OK, well, except for the guy in the Red Mustang. He had a close encounter of the worst kind with a guard rail. Bummer. It's been reported there were only 500 cars at the cruise. ;-)

It was really interesting seeing all the different cars. Boy, today's hot rods are a lot different than they were when I was just getting my license.

Love, Peace.

There was more rice than you could shake a stick at, but all in all, I must admit most were pretty well behaved.

Poor guy with his Mustang Cobra-R, smashed up the entire front end. If I remember right, they only produced 400 of those, and they went for $60K + dealer markup. I'd love to hear what he tells his insurance.

WB6HRO 07-30-2001 03:45 PM

My son went on the run and managed to find out what brake fade was on his 99 Turbo Eclipse. He ended up rolling it as it slide off the road into the dirt at 5 MPH.

He couldn't believe it went over when he was almost stopped! A lesson learned, nobody hurt. The sign is really there it's not a photoshop rework!

I was going to take my 62 on the run but at 10 MPG the gas tank wasn't big enough.

I didn't make it there, but it sounds like it was pretty cool. Did anybody snap some pics? Sorry to hear about Joe's son's rollover, at least no one was hurt. I did a similar thing when I was very young in my Capri, I was going a bit faster though & got my left wrist smashed & ground up a little, but I was pretty lucky not to have been hurt too bad.

adamsocb 07-30-2001 08:20 PM

I have some pics I will get up soon. The guy that organized it had a huge photo page from last year so I assume he will do the same for this year.
