Great thing about patching into mirror power is auto on when car is on and off when car turned off....won't run down battery this way by mistake....

Placing the Valentine under the rearview mirror makes it very noticable to cars behind you. If a police car pulls up from behind, you want to remove the unit....fast! This can be done with a velcro mount. I would not leave the Valentine in a noticeable position under the mirror when parked. Just an advertisement to thieves.

Better placement is probably under the driver's side visor at the top of the windshield using suction cups. This way, the unit is almost invisible to cars behind you. You can also hide the unit when parked or driving by pulling down the dirvier's visor. Power could be then be obtained using a short wire to the mirror. I will be trying this mount when my car gets delivered.

I did an Escort SR7 stealth system in my C6 with an LED in the dash and an under dash mount of the control unit and it is completely undetectable and works great. I'd recommend this to anybody and the whole thing installed was about 800 bucks. No cords sticking out, don't have to worry about somebody stealing it even with the top off and if I'm pulled over I can shut it off it's impossible to see that it's even there. After mulling every possibility over this seemed the only way to go on this beautiful and very fast cop magnet.

VASCAR systems are currently becoming more popular with police. Radar detection systems are useless detecting VASCAR since the officer times the car between two fixed points without electromagnetic wave information. They can get you from a position where a fixed police car is invisible to traffic. They can even get you when police car and target vehicle move in oppoisite directions. This system is a sports car's worst nightmare.

Vascar is a danger but its been around a long time, it takes more work to use, even more then Lidar. The #1 danger is still instant-on and pop-up radar. Its easy to use for the LEO and very effective.
