I am about to go to the track this weekend. I had an exhaust leak from Y pipe connection so I took I off the pipe to fix so now at the end of the Y pipe have no connection (until I finish getting the pipe fitted and put back). Question is going to track without this hooked up would it help, hurt, or do nothing at all it is 3 inch. my mods are motor bored .40 over .444/.444 cam siamse runners 52mm TB, slp headers, hypertech chip, smaller crank pulley, open air lid, k&n filter, and ported and polished heads.
Also is there away change my signature so i can enter my mods so they will show up when i post or reply thanks

The primary inversion pulse occurs at the collecor and the secondary at the end of the collector. So removing the cat and rear Y-pipe most likely frees up more HP. The amount depends on how restrictive the omitted parts were.

Well there were no cats and the rear y pipe is stock going into flowmaster mufflers. what do you think about true duals.

A guy in SW Fl with an '87 L98 uses TPIS headers true 3" duals through Random Tech cats and Flow Masters to run 12.0s.

If you have full lenght headers, 3" true duals would be the ticket. You should be able to find a local performance exhast shop to mandrel bend and weld up a set.
