I bought my vette used and I don't know how to locate the radio security code..call dealer with Vin#????

Thanks Frank |
you actually set the THEFTLOCK radio code yourself... with the key turned off, does a little red light flash on the face of the radio? If not, the THEFTLOCK feature was never activated and you are good to go:thumbs:
if you have your manual...look up Theft deterrent radio if a code was set... try this  https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...=164&TopicID=1 |

Thanks guys!
can anyone confirm if I have to do the long version or key relearn when i disconnect the battery? The reason I am asking is that although I will disconnect the battery..I do plan on turning the engine over once or twice during the winter on a nice day..I don't want to let the engine sit from Nov-March without turnover. |

EDIT: oops.. I just realized that you were asking about the key fob again :o you werent asking about the radio :D

Brain thanks a lot for the info and for posting the owners manual too
we'll see if anyone chimes in on my key-relearn question. My best friend is a good mechanic so i am sure he willl help out...but if I have to do a long key learn process everytime I reconnect the battery , then I have got to figure something else out. thanks again |
If you don't have the radio code, there was a post yesterday that dealt with how to unlock the radio once power is disconnected. Check it out. Otherwise, a dealer can unlock it for you, of course at a charge.
If you change the battery in the fob, it must be relearned to the car. Owners manual tells you how to do it I believe. |
Instructions for what to do after fob battery replacement are also inside the fob, on the cover.

don't take the battery out of the car just get yourself a battery tender plus, plug it in hook the cables up and forget it.
