I have the manifold and valve covers off of my '88...perfect time to change the wires that were burnt due to bad routing around the engine (no wire holders left)

-I currently have Accel 8.8 (not sure if they're good or bad, car never ran well anyway)

-Does MSD make wires that will fit an '88 (according to their website they don't)

-What are the best wires and where do I purchase them

Thanks,
Dave

I have MSD 8.5mm super conductors on my '87. No reason they shouldn't work on '88 as well. http://www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/smile.gif

What are you using for wire dividers? I've seen the expensive ($48.00) center bolt hangers as well as the typical plastic clips. However, supposedly the stock plastic clips do not hold the 8.5mm wires.

Any thoughts?

Yes it is pretty nice. There is also like you mentioned the version that goes over the top of the valve covers. These make it even cleaner and are much easier to install, but I didn't want the corvette emblem to be covered up. [img]http]//www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/smile.gif[/img]

Scorp that does look good. My Taylor spiro pro red wires came in yesterday and I started putting them on last night. I ordered the red wire seperators as well. With the center bolt valve covers I had to be creative mounting the seperators. They are the screw together type seperators. I drilled a small hole in the stock metel wire holder that is mounted to the side of the head under the valve cover lip. Had to remove the holders to drill the holes. Then got longer screws (#6 - 32 thread) and mounted the red seperators to the stock holders. Only got the right side done so far. It is going to look good when finished I hope.

I, personally, am a Magnecor guy. I've run them on every performance type car I've owned and been impressed. They're a tad pricey (usually about 50% higher than the other guys) but they really do set the standard. They make a very nice 8.5 mm set with insulation that is soft enough to fit into the stock 8 mm wire looms.

If you don't want to spend the money, a lot of guys both here and on 'vettenet have had good experiences with the MSD superconductors.
