1994 6spd, what rear gear ratio?

What rear gears were offered in 94 with the 6 speed? Anyone know of a database anywhere with this information for different years etc?

VR'92 01-12-2005 12:49 PM

Most likley it is a 3.45

Firevette 01-12-2005 01:03 PM

thanks! did they all come in this ratio? or was it an option?

95PoloVert 01-12-2005 02:04 PM

All M6's came with 3.45.

The A4's came with 2.59's, with the 3.07 optional.

You can verify the ratio by checking the bottom of the diff case. It should be stamped, along with the date installed, etc.

didn't the 91 or 92 come with 3.54's??? I know one year had an off ration than the others.

That's correct for the `94 model year.

I think the 84 4+3's and the 1990 ZR1's came with 3.54's, all other manuals were 3.45. (correct me if I'm wrong)

In the C4 Tech FAQ, there is a link to the C4 RPO FAQ.

Check that... This has been beaten to death... trust me on this.

ZR1s had 3.54s, I don't know about the '84 4+3. I know for sure that 1989-90 6 speeds had 3.33s, then in '91 they bumped it to 3.45 and it was like that until the C5s came out, on 6 speeds.

And this link:

The 1990 ZR1 was the only year with the 3.54 - they went to 3.45 in 1991. It could explain why the 1990 has been considered the quickest of the bunch.

:skep: Where are you guys coming up with ZR1s having 3.54s?

The `89 prototypes? Yes.
But the others? :skep:

I have heard that the cars that where made for the outside market (not uS) had the 3.54 and all the us cars had the 3.45. Correct me if i am wrong :)

My '92 6 speed LT1 came with 3.54 gears FROM THE FACTORY. The RPO code is GH0. I don't know what years that GH0 was an option, but it was available in 1992. By the way, mine is a US car, so this was not some export-only option.

Unfortunately I don't have access to my C4 Corvette Specs book, but it has all this kind of information.

Z-07 freak 01-13-2005 11:23 AM

That's an `89 prototype. All 84 of them have the 3.54 axle ratio.

bogus 01-13-2005 02:46 PM

answers that, eh?

Z-07 freak 01-13-2005 04:02 PM

Not really,

Just curious where you got that from.

It only shows up in the online RPO lists for 89-90.
