check that clutch flywheel cover is not hitting crankshaft. sometimes they get too close where radiused at the crank/ flywheel bolt area.

Some 2x4 front carbs did not have idle speed screws. The curb idle is best set by using the rear carb.

Assuming you have a 10.5" clutch-
Many new aftermarket flywheels are drilled and tapped for both 11" and 10.5" clutch.
You need a 168 tooth wheel if you are using the stock 57 bell and starter....

Hot lash would be .024 intake and .028 exhaust.
You could go with .026 and .030 cold and then recheck them hot.
Working through firing order is the easiest IMO.
