By April 1971, the 1970 production year was long gone. 1971 production started in August of 1970. CPW and CPX were 71 LS6 codes, so it is not that. Not sure what it is, though.

Nose emblem 70-72 came factory with speed nuts like you have pictured. I have tapped the speed nuts down the shaft of a tapered drift to open them up to make them usable.

According to the NCRS 70-72 manual, 72 had only one horn from the factory. It must be wrong, because the 72 I just bought had three and the previous owner had it for 40 years and they didn't say...
