1) Tried adjusting the frame itself forwards or back. The mounting bolts are under the side trim pieces.

As these cars get on in years, the grease inside the motor(s) dries up and can become like glue. If the other suggestions don't fix the problem, it may be time to remove the motor and pull it apart...
