you can easily measure deck height via substitution; done right, it'll be very close to true.

crank is probably 3.750" but you can verify below.

piston CH probably ~ 1.425" but you can verify....

May also be more than a little wear on guides/stems themselves.

Pull motor down & pay shop to mag block & measure bores & if it'll clean up with hone. It's probably pretty good.

Unless you have blocked your OE bypass (integral with oil filter mount), Not ALL oil goes through oil filter.
