Certainly it doesn't hurt to have a properly cut hub centric hole in the center of the wheel, but I will defend to the end the ability of these wheels to be run without a properly sized center hole....

I run CCW C14's of the same size on my C6Z track car. Backspacing is very close to Bill's at 7.5 inches BS for the front 18x11, and 9.25 inches BS for the rear 18x13

Just guessing here, but probably a safety feature. They probably think it's not a good idea to drive totally dark (even though you still have the HUD, but that can be dimmed to dark).
