Yep 882 halogens are dated, give off to much heat and burnt many of the C4 mounting sockets/boards they were mounted in! (Pre '89 C4 builds)

Xenon bulbs which GM started putting into '89 C4...

I don't think "standard" red locktite will get it done. It's high strength not high heat.
I would use a hi heat two part epoxy adhesive, like JB Weld.

You could also try a product called Rockset,...

I'm not positive as I only own and know how an '89 fans work...that being said I'm pretty sure your '85 does not work in the same way with the same parts and parameters.

Your fuse panel is on the passenger side.
Open the passenger door.... look at the side of the dash in the upper right hand corner, not under the dash, there is a door there covering the fuse panel.

Well if those 18" aftermarket wheels do in fact have the correct Chevy bolt pattern with a +40mm offset you should not have any problems clearing C5 brakes at all.

Still went with the "Center Out" install as recommended by the seal manufacturer.

Before you begin measure the hatch weather strip with a seamstress's measuring tape to make sure it's not to short....
