I would say no. I ran over 20+ events at Sebring which is a pretty tough course running over the rubble strips on the OE wheels and a set from House of Wheels and never had any issues.

I've seen a number of threads about this over the years and if I recall most said this wasn't worth doing. You're better off getting a rear caliper set that matches IMO or stick with stock.

I don't think it was that "rare" but can be harder to find when looking for used. Just have to search around.

I had it on my '04 and personally preferred the all black...
