Re: Nail in the tire :( What to do? (EuG)

One patch is generaly okay. And the speed rating is maintained. For the Run Flats, Goodyear requires a combination plug patch. AKA an umbrella patch.

Re: Column Lock & my new security system (ERND IT)

The column lock can fail in the open position. Usually pulling BCM fuse #25 in the passenger footwell will clear it.

But, the question is did it fail on it's own or did your new alarm system...

Re: Driver seatbelt Built wrong?? (steve badalamenti)

I think Steve is right. I just remembered to check the passenger belt in my 99. It has the same "Z" fold in it.

Cars with passenger airbag switches don't have it on the passenger belt. I'm...

Re: What's your tire pressure? (c5rose)

The pressure listed on the tires is the Maximum pressure you can run them at. The sticker on the Driver's Door is what you should go by.

Re: How hard is it to get a solid new roof? (Rand)

It would probably be cheaper to repair the damage to the roof you have.

You can find tops for sale in the C5 Parts for sale section of the forum at times. As well as on eBay.

Re: How high will the stock LS-1 rev without damage? (CJS)

FWIW, I've heard of a couple of cases where overrevs to around 6700 bent rods.

Re: (BatMobile)

Sounds like that's it since c4c5specialist said 2.3-2.7 V should be the centered value. Did you try turning it further clockwise to see if the voltage continued to climb? I'm not sure what the max...

Re: Help! Engine bucking at low RPM's on acceleration (Elk)

Check the codes stored in the DIC.

And check the connections to the air intake, sensors, etc. in case they loosened up over time.

Re: I am caving in, need your assistance in deciding on a C5 for a Head/Cam package. (jimbjr)

Call Dennis at the Vette Doctors and get his thoughts on any significant engine differences. If it were me, I'd look for a car with Active Handling (JL4). And that wasn't available until as an...

Re: Tire Sensor FIX - Dealer can't get it right!!!!!!!!!!! (jschell)

Sounds like a bad sensor. Did it read properly after they put in the new sensor?

And what grounds did they check? The sensors are in the wheels and aren't grounded. And if they are talking...

Re: Rattle in steering column area after brake booster replaced (DWynne)

I wouldn't think a vibration you feel is from the booster. But, if it is moving, then maybe it is applying the brakes and then you can feel that through the steering wheel.

Try this. Pop the...

Re: Rattle in steering column area after brake booster replaced (DWynne)

It's possible that something has loosened up on the booster that is causing the rattle. But, they shouldn't have touched the steering when replacing the booster. It's a fairly simple bolt-on...

2. The sensors are in each wheel and integrated with the valvestem. To replace it you have to remove the tire. Have you tried the...

Re: Service Manual (Bruce B.)

There is only one manual available. It is printed by http://www.helminc.com But, check Ken Fichtner's parts newsletter on how to order it at a discount. Or try eBay for a used one.

Re: Squeaky roof (vette9898)

Try applying a thin coat of Silicone Dielectric grease to the weatherstripping. You should be doing this periodically to all of the weatherstripping anyway.

If that doesn't help, you will need to...

Re: 6 1/2 or 7 quarts of Oil?? (C-5 TECH)

FWIW, I asked a friend to look this up on GM's SI2000. He said it lists the 2001 LS1 as having a 5.5 quart capacity with a filter change. Plus, we also know that the manual incorrectly lists wheel...

Re: C5Tech/C4C5Specialist...Assistance please. Steering Rate malfunction...AH Disabled. (C-5 TECH)

I'd be a little concerned with what C-5 Tech said about potential damage to the air bag coil. Is there a way to avoid damage while Neill is working on this?
