Default Need to burp my cooling system

I have a huge air pocket in my cooling system. How do I get rid of it?

Jack the front of the car as high as you can safely get it. Then run till thermostat opens , with the rad cap off, and rev to 2k rpms. Coolant level will drop. Pour in as much coolant as possible with the revs up and cap it. Let it cool and keep topping off the overflow as needed.

The only thing I do different is put mine on ramps vice jacks -- same principle, either or will work

If you have an electric water pump would you still need to rev to 2k rpm or would the pump working by itself be enough?
