What mods have u guys done that work and dont work. and what do u think about a hypertech programmer compared to the junk on ebay for 40 bucks. Even how about getting a chip or programmer?

This is a common topic. Lots of strong opinions. Should be interesting.

94 has a PCM, no chip. Only a programmer, which is not worth the money.

This thread should cover part II of question 1 (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1634941)

There are MANY mods that "work" it just depends on $$$$. Head/Cam packages, forced induction, NOS, stroker kits, tuning, etc...

Hypertech programmer? I don't have first hand knowledge of using one but search the threads for PCMforLess. Some have used them and appear to be satisfied with the results. Just my $ .02

Brecksville... one of the few places that's a bigger speed trap than Cuyahoga Falls! They got me once.
Nothing's changed... the weather is crappy. But I did manage to get the vette out yesterday.
But, Ohio is my place... I'm used to it, and the seasons are nice.
Cary must be like living in a large industrial northern city? Lots of businesses have moved there, I know GE has a lot of stuff there.

Default Old Memories

Funny thing tho that hapend the other day...

I was driving down a 4 lane main street and this turbo duramax chevy pulled up to me. I just got my exhuast on about two days ago and im driving normal, 50 in a 45. 4th gear, just loving the sound. and this guy is taunting me.and my girl friend didnt know turbo trucks are pretty dang fast, so i told her to watch how fast they are. she dont like when people try and mess with me she gets scared. well i had enough of this guy and his BS. so at the next light he obviously wanted to go so it turned green and i forgot to turn my trac control off and the gas peddle didnt want me to go.so i let off and shifted into second, slowed me up like hell. but the funny thing was that my first gear messed up i missed 3rd and he was next to me the whole time. i made it to 4th, looked back and noticed he wasnt to far back, but at the next one he wanted to go again. i laughed and made sure i took trac control off. he told me ( that things not as fast as it looks) well i was pretty mad he said that and when the light turned green i spanked him soo bad he didnt even pull all the way forward at any of the next lights, so i reversed and simply told him the only reason he got anywhere close was because I forgot how to drive at the first light. but now he knows not to mess with us C4's ( he wasnt stock either)

I think what it really means is we all do it on occassion. Otherwise why own a fast sprots car? But we aren't supposed to talk about it on this forum.

I was in Medina county for 14 years, moved south some 14 years ago (wow, that;s a lot of years). Nice people, nice neighbors, etc., but I could not take the dang long and cold winters anymore. Lot nicer down here!

PS==I would have kicked the guys butt too!

Derek, you are getting into stuff most CF members have learned to not talk about here.

There is a forum that caters to street racing stories. I think it's called CorvetteKillStories.

The stuff done here is pretty covert.

What they are saying is that the moderators will lock the thread if you continue to post about street racing. It could also result in getting you banned from the forum. You don't want that to happen. There is too much knowledge to be gained here. CorvetteKillStories and the Z28 forum have pretty good sections to read and post on street racing.

Edit: I had a Hypertech before I went to the custom tune. It benefits an auto a little more than a standard. Definately not worth more than $100. Don't waste your money. Get a laptop, Datamaster TTS, Tunercat, and order a custom tune. This will allow you to scan and troubleshoot as well as program. A tuner like PCMFORLESS can also upgrade the tune for future mods and upgrades.

Wasn't one of REM's better songs written about Cuyahaga Falls?
