Looks like Mann Hitch (former post about Z06 trailer solution) can not ship their custom Z06 hitches due to legal issues (has nothing to do with our car).
I was counting on this trailer for several track events (next week) and now have $3000 dollars in unusable track rims and tires (along with a $65k car).
ARE THERE ANY ALTERNATIVES ON THE MARKET AT THIS TIME? This is very concerning to me, as I bought the Z06 as a track car, and now I can't even use the damn thing.
Are we (those who tow tires) screwed? Can we try to simply bolt the C6 hitch and just deal with it? were not talking about towing anything more than a small tire trailer
Something about they can install the product on prem, but can not ship the product. It's probably about patents or something. They probably don't want someone taking their solution and copying it, before they can patent it...who knows. He said it had nothing to do with the car.
95jersey PM'd me a while ago and when I answered I hadn't read this thread.
Mann Hitchs used my car as a template about 3 weeks ago and I thought they told me they had 4 orders and they would be sending them out. Maybe they've changed their minds for some legal reason. I'm sure it's not a design / patent issue because it's really just a simple job of welding a few custom pieces together and avoiding the Z06 exhaust baffle mechanism.
UPDATE: I just talked to Shane at Manns Hitch, Bellevue, WA, and he said that their insurance underwriter is having a little problem with them manufacturing the hitch and shipping it out for someone else to install. Liabilitiy issues. He is waiting for final word from the insurance underwriter who should give him final word in a couple of days. He said he would then call the guys that are on his list and let them know what's up.
I asked Shane if he had a problem with me taking detailed photos of my installation and posting for forum memebers to take to their hitch guru to do a custom hitch. He said he had no problem with that. (It's really pretty simple).

The C6 hitch will not fit due to the stock mufflers. Hence, if you replace the stock exhaust with something else (which does NOT have the valve setup), the C6 hitch should fit.

I was thinking that was the problem that they would look at him as a manufacturer.

I have the fuse pulled anyway and car is still super quiet, so I could care less about the vacuum actuator, can it be removed from the stock exhaust completely? If that is all that is holding me back, I'll rip that damn thing off ASAP.
My solution is to drive the car to the track on tires. The Toyo RA1 for example have a lot of tread in case you hit any rain. And, just leave them on for around town driving to and from work. Cheaper and better than the GYRF. Just in case join the triple A.
I put an 06 Z06 on a uhaul trailer a few weeks ago and it worked fine. Rent a truck and a trailer and trailer your car to the track. It may not be how you want to get there but you will get there.

I priced it out...$500 U-Haul with truck, trailer and mileage.
exploring the option of cutting off the vacuum actuator to fit a standard hitch.

wow, very cool of him...please post more pics when you can...

I'm really tied up the next couple of days but I'm off on Firday so I can jack up the rear of the car and take several shots and post on this thread. That should give a custom installer enough of an idea how to do it -- it's really pretty simple and straight forward.
By then we may know if Shane @ Manns Hitch can ship the hitchs.
EDIT: I've put several pics of Mann's hitch later in this thread.
I hope this helps! I guess no one has heard yet from Shane whether or not they can ship the hitches? ? I bet any custom hitch guy could make one easily from these photos. You just have to find someone willing to do some custom work. s
