I will do the occasional quick flash, but some people, wait until the last second and flip their brights on. LS_WON, not carrying anything in the back. I will take a look at the alignment situation
Thanks

"Just lower them a quarter turn each and test. Repeat if necessary."

A quarter turn....which way? Turning the wrench a quarter turn CLOCKWISE does what to point of light beam impact?

What size allen wrench do you need to make the adjustment? Will a standard allen wrench work or do you need an extended allen wrench?

I posted these details in the past... but I cannot for the life of me find the thread now. Sorry.

I think it's a 6mm allen. A typical allen "L" key should be fine. Just look into the hole and you'll see how deep the allen screw is. It's not too deep.

I believe that counter-clockwise raises the lights, and clockwise lowers them. But I can't remember for sure. No problem though... just park your car in your garage, turn the headllights on, and turn a headlight adjuster screw a quarter turn clockwise and watch the headlight beam against your garage wall (that's what I did the first time). You will then be able to observe which way to turn the screw for lowering or raising, etc.

Overall, it's very easy / simple. As long as you remember where the screw settings were originally, you can't go wrong. You can always set it back to "stock"... which may or may not be a good adjustment anyway.

If you have goofed around with your suspension / tires etc, you may have thrown the headlight adjustment off... keep that in mind.

[QUOTE=chip4;1561764681]Ever think your beams are pointed too high -theres a reason why people are flashing their brights at you -no need to be a ***, you can just adjust yours.

Adjustment uses an allen (hex) wrench.

Not the same type of light but for fog lights those H-1 100 watt bulbs for off-road are real bright.

Flashing your brights back will not deter law enforcement from making a stop. I had the same problem with my C6 and I took the car back the next day after delivery. Dealer stated that the lights checked out fine and refused to make any changes. I now have a Z06 and I haven't been signalled by others yet. I also installed 3M film, which might help your problem.

Never had any lighting issues with LEO even back 20 years ago when using off road lights H-1 100 watt bulbs in headlights on public roads it's only the front plate and tinted side windows.

I get DUI and other cases which begin with a traffic stop due to alleged high beams on, when no high beams are actually on.

Default Maybe its the boonies?

We got our new 04 Lexus with those lights when they were relatively unusual, and got a lot of those flashes from oncoming traffic. Over time the flashes have dropped to nothing now since the lights are more common, except in places like Yosemite.

In any case, thanks for pointing out the adjustment.

Interesting, as I too recently drove through Yosemite in the middle of the night on my way back from Vegas. Being a good driver I always went to low-beam whenever there was oncoming traffic. However I was in a C5 and although most would switch off their high-beams, some would not do it at all and a few did flash me right before I would drive by. Also, I nearly struck a baby deer but fortunately it just finished crossing the road as soon as my car was there. However my luck would run out as I hit a rabbit that was in the middle of the road that moved in front of my left front tire as soon as I nearly reached the rabbit. There was nothing I could have done to avoid hitting it. Fortunately my Vette sustained no damage. Road trip pics to be posted soon.

Just to finish this one out, had the car at the dealer's for the DRL/Turn Signal issue and asked them to look at the headlights. They were very high!!!!
I now have a very visible light line across the front of the car that I have never had before. My headlights just went out into the road. I guess it also explains why I felt my brights were not very effective.

Was this for a burnt out DRL? Or the TSB on the wiring harness?

I know I was in a very dark area, but this is ridiculous.
Anyone else experience this? I am not wondering if I don't have a headlight brightness issue.
Hey Grzldvt, Not to change to subject, but how was the drive into Yosemite with the Vette (other than the flashing issue) ? I was considering the same road trip.

Check blinker fluid. Might be overfilled and running into headlight reservoir.

[QUOTE=chip4;1561764681]Ever think your beams are pointed too high -theres a reason why people are flashing their brights at you -no need to be a ***, you can just adjust yours.

Exactly!!!

I hate jerks that never aim their lights, then hit the high beams.

Here is a big hint, if you get flashed all the time, turn your low bea,s or driving lights down.

Or, be a dick and get them smashed out. I have seen that happen.

The first fix costs less.

Yes to both.... Turned out the harness was bad, so they replaced it along with the lights.

I do this pretty much every few weeks until they close the roads in the high country, so for me it is a no-brainer. Don't expect to get much wild driving in on the twisty's, radar is randomly setup on all the roads, and the crowds can be tough.
I was cranking down Glacier Point Road which has a ton of blind curves, and came around a corner and a guy stopped the car in the road and was taking pictures.

If I was doing 50 mph, instead of the 35mph I would have smacked him BIG Time.
Have a backpacking trip scheduled for the 6th and 7th, couple of day hikes on the 20/21st. Then it gets played by ear based on the weather.
