These are the Breathless Performance ones molded from the inside out as recommended by Ernie from BPP. Evil Twin was my inspiration for this mod but I did not have the same courage as he did and had a pro do the install for me...

OK I know I am an idot but gotta ask. Where is the best place to find screens for my brake ducts like this (4GTABODT)?

I went to Metal Supermarkets (should be one in your area) and bought some of their perforated aluminum mesh...then I cut out a piece of cardboard until it fit the opening and then cut the metal out (used an electrice table sander to round off the edges and then glued it in from the back using JB Weld

If there's not a MetalSupermarket in your area, McMaster-Carr carries pretty much any type of metal screen you can think of. They even have stuff that's an exact match for the OEM Z06 material.
Well I guess I started a mod fest as after reading all the responses I called Breathless and lo and behold they are out of stock. They shipped the last three yesterday. They could not give a firm date when the next ones will arrive just a maybe sometime towards the end of next week. I would buy the rci units but the plastic duct work seems a little pricey. I wonder if you can fit the factory plastic ducts to them?
Oh well going to go look some more, maybe I will go look at C6's and trade this one in.If anyone knows about the rci ducts let me know.
Hmmm... Apparently BPP now recommends installing them from behind. If that's the difference in looks, I like it!
All of these look great. I like the shorter one a bit better. The longer (correct install) does look better in conjunction with aftermarket front ends, though. Some great work here guys .
The pictures suck, I only had my camera on my cell phone to work with. My wife has the better camera down in FL at our other house.
How I did it... well... I don't really have time to go into every detail. I had the idea a while back, and just sacked up and did it over my last 'hold' period for flight school. I had about a month of waiting to start the next class, and just started working on the clearance issues first, then went to a Exhaust shop down the road to have them do the welding and bending. I used my old Corsa tips, and the black trim you see, is just door sill material you get at any auto parts store. The hardest part was getting the ***** to cut a hole into my car, not knowing how the finished product would turn out.
Thanks for the kind words everyone, and as for the smell; only when you are sitting still will the fumes come up and bother me... then I just roll up the window. It does make ordering at a drive thru harder... you can tell the person can't hear me very well, so I do have to speak louder.
