hi guys my name is john i just recently bought a 08 vette.it has an ls3 nd im wondering either to put a procharger or the magnason supercharger..which do u think will give me more power?? and which do u think will go best with the ls3??
Johnny,
Do yourself a VERY big favor and call Chris or Doug at ECS... www.eastcoastsupercharging.com they have the best kit on the market hands down. They sell and install every type of F.I. from Centri, TT, Maggie, etc... These guys will give you the info needed to make the RIGHT choice for you... ECS' ph# (609) 752-0321
They also have install locations all over the country, not just the east coast...
yeah i went to vettedoctor and spoke to carmin nd he showed me the dyno charts and the procharger gives me all around power threwout the rpm ranges..he told me the magnason chrager would only give me low end power..

But what he may not have mentioned is, the ECS kit is set up with a special intake mod that gives MUCH more rwtq than any other kit out + about $2000 worth of other extras that come with their kit... that I had to source and pay extra for in my ATI kit... I only have the ATI kit because it was the only option in '05... I WISH ECS had a kit out back then... Trust me on this one... call 'em

Centrifugals like the pro-charger climb linearly in boost up to redline. So if it you want to tune the car for 6 lbs of boost, that 6lbs will come at the top RPM (lets say 7k rpm). So at 3500rpm, you'd have ~3lbs of boost.
The Magnuson is a positive displacement supercharger. It makes max boost throughout the rpm range. So if it's tuned for 6psi, you get 6psi from 1500rpm to 7000rpm.
That said, the maggie will run out of air sooner than the procharger. While it will be MUCH more powerful in the lower rpm range, it won't get the big numbers at the top of the RPM range that a centrifugal will.
It's all in what you want. Try to figure out what your goals are for the car.
But like most here have said already, the A&A Vortech and ECS paxton kits are historically much better quality centrifugal kits.

The Vette Doctors make 8 sec vettes I would agree 1000% with Carmin
