I'm sure if I missed something Jason or EG can chime in. I have not dyno'd the car yet I'm not real hung up on dyno numbers but the way it drives now has started to get me curious.
I just picked my car up from EG this week. I took advantage of the special they have going on right now. Whiplash cam package, 3:90’s stage I, LT’s & catted X installed and tuned. First let me say Stephen and Jason are top notch and Houston is a better town now that these guys have joined forces at one shop. Stephen sent me update e-mails every day with pictures as the work progressed. No games were played and strict care was taken care of my car while in their shop. The car was delivered with an initial tune for all the new goodies which I am going to guess took 2-3 hours. It ran good, but I had to take it easy to break in the new gears. Like torture knowing that cam just wanted to be rung out, but I had to keep the RPM’s down for the first 300 miles.
When I picked up my car Stephen asked me to take notes on any drivability issues and to let him know. I went back the shop today with about 3 or 4 things I thought could be improved on. Stephen spent the next 3+ hours riding around town with me while I drove and he data logged. He tweaked the tune and WOW!
The Whiplash is a good sized cam and with the tune the car has low RPM manners of near stock. It has a sick lope at idle and sounds crazy when you stand in it. You have to be pointed straight when you nail it, because it roasts the tires well into third. I can’t wait to get some times on it. EG doesn’t have their dyno bolted down yet, so no number to share, but I should have some figures very soon.

Glad you like the Whiplash cam, Kris. Before you placed the order, you had a lot of concerns regarding streetability and living with a big cam day to day, especially at low speed and in traffic.
We promised you near stock driveability with our mid 240s duration cam, and we delivered. And it screams like a banshee

Yes I did have a lot of questions and I really appreciated the time the EG guy’s spent discussing all of my questions/concerns. Stephen told me before I bought anything that with a cam it is all about the tuning and that couldn’t be a more accurate statement. You can build a potential 700HP NA motor, but with crap tuning you won’t want to get behind the wheel. You will just hate the car. I feel bad for anyone who has a shop just turn the wrenches and hand the car back. It is key that a car is tuned by someone who really understands what they are doing. EG knows how to put together a solid package and deliver results. They took the time to get it right and ensure I was . Thanks guys.
