I just installed the ENGLANDGREEN Whiplash cam in my 1999 FRC. I needed some help from Stephen on the tune since I am a novice at the process. But I can honestly say, the car drives better now than it did with the old grind. Had a rverse split 230/224 575/565 on a 111LSA. I passed the keys to fellow C5 owner and did not tell him what cam was now in the engine. Af,ter a short drive his words were "Mans its a beast and it drives great below 1500RPM". I told him it was the Whiplash cam and he was in disbelief. So the moral of the story is Go big and do not skimp on the tune and you will be happy...

Any chance you did a before and after dyno? I've got a reverse split and thinking about going with a larger traditionaly split.
Are there substantial losses in fuel economy with a nice heads/cam/intake system?
With the few mods I have, I'm still seeing 25-30mpg on the highway at cruise speeds. Is that still obtainable once you swap for h/c/i? Or are you down to 10mpg regardless of how you're driving it?

With a black wing intake and a cat-back exhaust I got 32.5 on the highway and ruffly 20-21 around town. with my set up I have now (see sig) I get 28.5 highway and 16-17 around town. yes it does depend on how you drive it.
Tuner = HP Tuners, tried to tune myself but failed. Stephen (EngalndGreen) Emailed me a tune that drives great. This helped alot.
MPG = before blended was 22-24. Now for the short time I have driven the car 22-23. Have not done any highway driving to speak of yet.
Before dyno was 370-375 on different days. Sorry no dyno yet, but the car feels better all around. May get to the Dyno this Saturday if it does not rain.
Whiplash Cam???? Sounds like the OLD Thunder 230/224 cam.... nothing new there???
99-TR230/224-111 Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"Reverse Split" - 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars . Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.
