Default Ported Fast 92mm VS. Ported LS6 Intake

hey guys,

I cant make a decision. I have an 01 Z06 with the following mods

MS4 cam
LT headers
X pipe w/o cats
Corsa Catback
Underdrive pulley
vararam

435 RWHP
385 RWTQ

I am looking to increase my midrange torque

how much of a gain is there to be had with a FULLY ported ls6 manifold ?? How much would it cost ??

considering the cost difference, would I be better off going for a ported Fast 92 ??

who performs the most cost efficient but effective port jobs ??(tony mamo, ron 2 vengeance racing, cory @ ls2portworks, etc.)

thank you very much

Have u considered gears 3.90 or 4.10? if u just want a torque increase thats the best way to go. Ron at vengeance doing great job in porting 92mm FAST i have seen one post he got 32 Rwhp after swapping thier ported TB and FAST 92 but did not know if he got increase in mid range torque tho.
Also if u send ur LS6 intake to TPIS they can cut TB opening and attached a 90 MM neck so u can use a 90mm TB they charge $350 +core.

If i were u i would consider 3.90 gears with that big Texas MS4 Cam.

BTW iam considering thier 233/239 Cam only package and later down the road upgrade to 3.90 gears.

My LS6 intake and TB were both pro ported on my H/C Z06. I swapped to a pro ported FAST 90 and LS2 setup. I only gained 5 peak hp and lost both torque and hp throughout the midrange. So if you want to save a lot of money and get more torque go with the LS6 combo. I got my LS6 TB ported by Lingenfelter for like $100, and the LS6 intake by LS2 portworks was around $160 I think. Can't go wrong considering the price.

P.S.

Call or email Lingenfelter's customer service dept. they'll give you the real scoop on this, and won't try to sell you an unnecessary component for your application; and yes they know what they're talking about.
