Default Opti - just had to check

took my new MSD opti out of the box today.

Just had to see it if was possible to put it in the "standard" location.

A little on the tight side.

Perhaps of the fuel rail covers were removed, and if the fuel lines and EGR was rerouted.

Biggest thing would be the thickness and getting it underneath the base of the windshield.

It would be much easier to change in that location.

But to really be right it would have to go on top so it can throw water all over the msd and make it fail just the way the factory intended.

Like I say with restoratsions " its not perfect its factory correctly F#$&^% up"

did it already...used an opti "reluctor" disc and pickup, adapted to an HEI distrib upper end...the opti disc is only abt 3" o.d. so it fits ez above the 5" o.d. HEI upper casting...a "delteq" system + northstar coilpac was used for secondary output to the spark plugs to alleviate probs endemic to the opti cap/rotor (huge size, internal arcing, etc.)

intially ran on an early lt1 that had intake mod to accept a rear mounted dizzy, now being used on a bbc with late 90's truck mpfi, 94 9c1 ecm (sequential injection)
