Today I noticed that my mpg display on the digital dash was flashing sys then back to MPG and so on. Never noticed it before. What is it telling me if anything? I looked at my code refernces and didn't see anything to explain. Thanks!
Happens to me after car sits for a long winters sleep.....battery is low on charge. Drive it around for awhile and it will go away on it's own. I now use a Battery Tender and have no issues. Might be worth investing in. Check it out on ebay!

Exact same thing. Found out the Delco battery was 5 years old. Put a new Interstate Battery in. Computer reset, and the SYS was gone.
Will tender charge it next winter !.
"SYS" doesn't directly mean that the battery or charge is bad. It means that the CCM has a stored trouble code. A weak battery (I presume) can cause the computer to sense a malfunction in one or some of the systems it controls, so that is often seen as a root cause and easy fix.
Could be a LOT of things that cause that, you need to scan your CCM, use the procedure shown in the earlier post and you'll get a much better idea what's causing it.
thats the frist thing i checked was the switch in the doors,
i think its in the ccm? i did have the battery out all winter !!!
i'm going to try the scan,
While a low battery can cause a SYS display, that's not a good diagnosis. I've posted a Word document here which explains how to read CCM and ECM codes through your digital display. I'll be posting a PDF soon and will provide the link.

Ok...I believe it was the battery. My son did not shut the passenger door thus draining the battery. I pulled the the codes and found a low voltage code. I then cleared the code and put the battery on a slow charge overnight. I ran it for an hour after work yesterday and the SYS did NOT reappear. I went ahead and pulled codes again after and found none. I really appreciate all the great support and info that you guys provide when help is needed!!! Hope you have a great weekend.

One allways tries to shoot some help or tips, it´s a vice versa thing, it can be the other way around next time when I or someone else needs some helpful tips, even if mine wasn´t the solution now, it may help someone else perhaps.
That´s so great with internet, either one can help someone else or you might get help, tips, ideas and the fun part is, you get it for free.
With a little bit of luck you can save a bunch of money too, before you race to the mechanic.
