for those that thought it couln't be done....
Here are the pics my of my Swedish friend Hakan's cutouts on an automatic trans...

From looking at the pictures, it appears he had to mount the cutouts in different places on the over axle pipe due to clearance issues - and in order to keep the bottom of the pipes a uniform distance off the ground he had to make the two pipes a different length.
Some pretty detailed work there for sure! Nice job Hakan.
By the way, Hakan taught me something cool - Google has a great translate feature that we use to communicate - it does a great job if you ever need to communicate with someone. Makes me think...how many years away are we from the "Universal Translator" from Star Trek...you speak into your iPhone and it translates into another language and plays it out the speaker....
