Isnt the purpose of a diffuser to guide air from the front of the car, over a smooth belly pan and guide it out the back?I cant see how this is any use on a car that has nothing to clean up the air.But that red car is bitchin.I like the shaved brake light.

Done right, it's suppose to create low pressure zone under the rear of the car creating suction and keep the tail down at high speed.

I only do high speed events...
It has been brought to my attention, but I just left them.
The last events that I raced in were the Texas Mile, Big Bend 2007 and Roadrunner 2007...Tech speed at the Roadrunner was 168 and I was there for quite a few miles...as for tires I'm running Vredesteins, so I could switch it back without consequence to the tires.
No matter how it looks he was able to get a higher top speed with it installed. Here are close up shots.
enjoy.
oh and the car is a ZR1... 1994 i believe.
that looks great. I think that it's important to understand that there is a science to this (it's not just about slapping sheet metal to the bottom of the car). There has to be a certain angle for the the diffusior to do it's job, and you can also see that the red car as enclosed the 3rd member. Keeping the airflow smooth.
although not a corvette, this is a great thread with tons on information.

I certainly realize that...HotRod magazine did an article on some guy in the country providing wind tunnel testing for guys like us...fairly pricey...
I notice that both cars do not have a gap between the diffuser and the bumper. The Miata link has several posts about this. Does the differential run hot? Would putting a vent opening in the bumper help?
