Default Personal best today at MIR

05 c6 z51 6speed Made 5 passes today slowest being 11.59 121.63 and a three very consistent runs. 11.22 11.23 11.20 124.36. My 60' times were 1.515 1.507 1.466 1.438 . I am stiil struggling with my shift points which is making my 1/8 miles et inconsistent.

Dude that two step is sittin and gittin!!!

Man that thing is launching hard!!!

You sharpen that shifting a little and you are in the 10's.

p.s. Not bad for only 10 runs in the car....!

WOW, I wish I could pull 60's like that... I love that 2 step, I know what my next mod is!!! Great runs, I should have mine back together by next week, we ought to get together and do some heads up runs, it would be a great race...

Thats awesome the 2 step worked. I knew when we talked it would be the hot lick. I still can't get over the first RPM we recommended netted a 1.43 60', Good job man!

I spoke to Arnold...2700....that's what amazes me. If I launch my car at 2700 it bogs like nobody's business. I have to launch at 5000+ and cannot let it bog below 4000 to get a decent 60 foot. But Arnold has a smaller cam and much better heads than me. I think he dyno'd at 490/460 or something like that.

i def need a 2step to help me launch...that is the only thing killing me reaching my goal of a 10.6x...so 2700rpm with the gas pedal to the floor, and once you pull out clutch the **** goes right

With my 1.5's I'm .875 seconds from tire movement to WOT, feathering the clutch & gas the whole time to maintain traction. A good stalled auto is < .400 from tire movement to WOT. They tend to shift at .500, us manuals are .250, but it's hard to recover from the delay on the launch.

I'd like to see someone else try a 2 step to see if they can reproduce Arnold's results. He's got a really dialed in setup with that smaller cam and those 205 heads...he's got more low end tq than you and I, but probably 40-50 ft lbs at 2700.

Arnold can you email me a dyno sheet so I can post it up? Even better if you've got the .drf file from your dyno as I can overlay yours and mine.

When Arnold and I talked, I thought 2700 would be a good place to start. I was hoping he went 1.6x and than we could creep up on the launch RPM like we do on my car. I was wrong.

It is. I spoke to Arnold on the phone the other night about this, and I'm more of a forum hound than he is in case people are wondering why I'm answering for him!

Arnold perhaps you can describe for us how the 2 step installs and how it works. I heard it'll eat up your cats if you have them, do you have cats or have you heard this?

This is my understanding of how it works.

The two-step cuts timing but not fuel. So while you are at your launch rpm, you are pouring unburned fuel into the exhaust. This is what eats up your cats.

And IMHO, a two-step doesn't help your 60. A lot of practice will help it. A two-step is good for consistancy but not necessarily ET.
