Today when I entered CF it asked me to Sign In. I did that and a box popped up saying "Thank you for signing in duckvett". But the screen immediately went back to asking me to sign in again. At this point I opened C5 General and the box at the top says "Welcome, duckvett. (showing me as logged in). But all threads show no photos, no avatars, no signatures, etc.
Images may not have (and may not be) displaying 100% either. Fixing that now.
It should now remember you being logged on though, sorry for the inconvenience
I was logged in shut my browser, later opened the browser and I'm no longer logged in. When I enter userid, password and check stay logged in I briefly get the welcome message and then quickly I get the screen where I am no longer logged in. What gives???????
Tried multiple times and always the same results. What can I do to get logged in????????????????????

Also looks like my Avitar is gone as well. HELP
Your avatar is still there, our image server is having issues which we are fixing
It appears that I am being logged in and the "Keep me Logged in" is working but that the control that displays the "Welcome username" isn't updating.
I closed the browser, re-opened CF and did a search for my posts. Went back to the main screen and it now says "Welcome username" I did not enter a username or password.
Even though the index page shows you are not logged in, going to any one of the sub-forums will show you as being logged in.
What you can't see (at least for Gold levle Supporting members) is the Steering Committee link on the index page. Have to get to that by using the pull-down "Forums" tab on the red button bar.
What's strange about the avatars is that some of the "default" avatars can be seen.
Your login information is maintained by a cookie (small text file on your computer). Your cookie is tied to a domain (www.corvetteforum.com). Internet Brands is changing the domain from forums.corvetteforum.com to (currently) www.corvetteforum.com. During the process... I've also seen corvetteforum.com (no "www" or "forums"). Each time they change the domain, a new cookie must be created. New cookies are created when you log in. So... when you're logged out... simply log back in and continue working. Hopefully Internet Brands won't keep monkeying around with the domain/routing and the issue will go away.
Also, the avatars are links to images stored on a web server. Just like every web page you go to, they have their own individual links to them. Those links also use domain names to find the image. It looks like IP Brands is playing with URL rewriting or not updating the "base URL" in the forum software when they change the URLs elsewhere.

I was under the impression that avatars are stored on a CF (IB) server. If you hover your mouse over the avatar line, you can see the URL for tha avatar at the lower left corner of the browser window. Most avatars are uploaded from a user's PC to the CF or selected from the default avatars.

I don't use that... nor do I see it currently. It could be an entirely different issue. It looks like they updated some images on forum index, so perhaps we're running on a copy of the old forum (but accessing the "live" db).
In any case, all we can do is be patient while they work it out.
The "Forums" drop down list is still using the old URLs (forums.corvetteforum.com). It does not appear that this was a very well planned changed. It would also have been nice if we had been notified about this in advance. I have bookmarks that need to be updated now and I suspect there are many others that are in the same situation.

Even if they are stored on the same server, they have URIs. For instance... the stars under your name are stored on "images.corvetteforum.com". That could be... a completely different server... or the same server (or server cluster) that VB is running on. Ping the domain name to find what IP it resolves to. Then ping www.corvetteforum.com and compare the IPs.

They should be able to make those bookmarks continue to work.
