Default npp in a box question

I have been trying to install npp in abox on my 08.The vacuum port is on the rear of the engine. As per instructions I have been unable to get this cap off the vacuum port tried all the hints that were posted before it's a real PITA took coil pack off and as much as I tried no luck.Called the dealer he tells me I can put a tee in the brake vacuum booster line and pull vacuum there.Anyone with knowledge tell me if that would work
Anyone with some ideas would be greatly appreciated don't want to have to pull the intake off to do this mod which is what the dealer says he would have to do to much $

Yes, you could pull vacuum using the brake booster line as it gets its vacuum from the intake manifold. Its all from the same source so I see no reason it wouldn't work just fine. Good luck, It'll be well worth the effort.

When adding NPP to my LS3 I broke off the ears on the rear nipple and kept working that little thing until it came off. I think i was able to get some small plyers back there and it finally gave way. Plugged in the hose and all was good.

I used an exact knife duct taped to a nutdriver. That gave me the length to get back there. I used the little plastic bar for leverage. Remember it is supposed to look like a barb fitting when you get done. Some have cut too close to the manifold taking the barb off..
Here is the Tee cut off, but held on by duct tape for illustration..

Default vacaum tee

You can slip a 12 mm socket on the fitting and twist it right off. I used a 1/4" ratchet and had room to get it in there.

Did all you guys do this on jacks and jack stands? Wonder if I'm going to be able to run the vacuum all the way to the front with just the back end up.

I did it by driving up the front on ramps (race ramps) and jacking the rear and putting jack stands under the rear recommended jacking points. Plenty of room to runt the vacuum lines through the torque tube tunnel and tie everything in place.

Great! My B&B exhaust is coming today and I'd really like to get it on. Wonder if my regular jack will fit under the back or if I'll have to buy a low profile. I have ramps, but I'll definitely have to get some 2x4s to get the vette on there. It is for sure going to drag!

I believe the vacuum is on the front of the intake on the LS2.

LS2 preferred source is at the back. Here's a couple of views.

Finally found the dang thing. Loosened the coil pack on the pass side and used a hacksaw blade and cut it off. I accidentally broke off the little tab on the right side which made sawing it off a piece of cake.
Now i'll go find the bandaids.

How did you manage to connect the tubing? The little tab you speak of... you mean that plastic tab that sicks out to the LEFT of the connector (see the picture above)? I've already removed that little "T" cover...

P.S. I know if I turned my car on I'd have a "vacuum leak" ... but what does that mean? Is my car undrive-able until I get this hose connected?

Vara , if u opened up the port , then yes you cannot leave it open

if u need to drive the car , just get a small length of vacuum line hose , plug the end with the appropriate size bolt or what ever you can put in the hose and then slide the hose on the nipple

this will plug your vacuum leak till you get time to run the hose

Dave
