Im loosing battery power ,I put a factory reman alternater and a bran new interstate battery .My ? the car is a 89 its been changed to a carb the instr. cluster doesnt work so I removed it to have rebuilt would this have anything to do with loosing battery?

I wouldn't think so on the cluster thing. Take a voltage test on the back of the alt. Should get 13.7 volts. Check for shorts. You may be able to determine which elec. curcuit has the problem by taking one fuse out at a time and watch the volt reading. Good luck. May be someone with more knowlage will chime in.
Easy: Put your DVM in series with the Battery and on high amps, then pull fuses until the draw goes away to identify the problem Circuit. If that doesn't do it, you'll have to start disconnecting the fusible links behind the battery which becomes a bit more difficult because none of them are labled as to circuit. If that doesn't show it, there is a fusible link (for a/c) at the Starter and by elimination, it's got to be it (and if it is it's probably the Blower Motor Module though when that's the problem the Blower Motor is usually running with the ignition off).
