Supposed to be top shelf oil and from what I could find meets the new specs and has for years.
Thanks

Scott,
My Z is an 09 with mods....508rwhp...see profile.
I highly recommend Amsoil 0W-30 Sugnature Series Synthetic (which is slightly more expensive than the Amsoil 5W-30) for use...changing at 3500-4000 mile intervals unles you drive in stopand-go traffic a lot.
I have 76K miles on my Z (!!) and use zero between oil changes...also recommmend the K&N Oil filters for the LS-7 motor.
Results: Very free revving, quiet, and 26.5 mpg on road trips....of which I do many!!
BTW....Congrats on your new Z....drive it in good health (for you and the Plastic Chevrolet!)
Here is an article. It seems you can still use Mobil 1 but they are trying to make you go to the dealership. I am sure Mobil 1 brand manager is trying to get the dexos1 symbol on the side of the bottles.

THAT is what I was looking for. Thank you Avalonandl.
Thanks for the answers but not one of them answered my question.
I don't care about what oil you are using, my question is what does the manual say.
It just may irrelevant what the manual says...if there is technically a better choice...which has been shown by independent testing that Amsoil 0W-30 Signature series is better. The Point is that the chemical and thermal stability of given synthetic hydrocarbon chain transends, i.e., trumps the spec. Specifically that the lubriciity and therma stability of Amsoi l0W-30 Synthetic is better than say...Mobil One 0W-30 Synthetic, which recommmended by the Manual.. However, this is not the point...Specs are important, but technical data is more important..
And furthermore, if one goes to the Amsoil website one would find the same certifications quoted by Brother "AvalonDL" from the "MobilOne" website.
Down here in Baton Rouge LA, there is a large Exxon-Mobil Refinery where MobilOne has been Lab tested vs. Amsoil, Royal Purple, Redline, Quaker State, Castrol znd other syntheic motor oils. Results have been published originally just in Company Confidential Technical Memorandums...and fnally leaked to the Public Domain.

You are preaching to the choir brother Duffy. My request for the info was not for me but for another site. I am an Amsoil user and am sold on the benefits of their top end line.
