Went to install new Speed Lingerie leather 6 speed manual shift boot yesterday on my 2008 vert and could not find the T20 torx set screw the instructions said was accessable by sliding down the current shift boot slightly. I moved the old boot down as far as it would go, I could see what looks like the bottom of the shifter, looked all around the **** with a light and a little mirror but could not find it. What am I missing? Anyone have a picture of where it's located? Is it on the front, left or right side or rear of the ****? Many thanks for the help!
Be careful and use a very well fitting philips driver as that screw can strip out very easily...not the threads but the philips head. The Torx is a much better idea...you should replace it with Torx if you get it out successfully.
This has to be the best forum ever! Any time I've had a problem and brought it to this forum for advise, someone on this forum jumps in to offer help. Thanks everyone.

I've done this several times. Hold the shifter steady with the left hand (if you are righty) and using the best fit Phillips head you have, press hard with the screwdriver and turn slowly. The screw is a major PITA to get loose.
