ECS NOVI 1500, GFORCE TUNED-Houston Half Mile Results and Videos!

So with a good tune from GFORCE Motorsports, full street trim, 295/45-17's in the back(the way I drive it daily), 402 with an ECS Novi 1500 kit on a 6 rib belt, these were the results.
171.5mph, 170.5mph, back to back. 2nd video is still uploading.

What I have learned is that base C6's are not setup to run the half mile with my tire, gearing and power. Nitrous cars might be different on a different size tire. Also, I am ditching the nitrous for now, and going to put the bigger Novi 2200 on and put in a C16 race tune for this event. I think that 180mph is doable with better weather and just a blower.
Big thanks to ECS and GForce Motorsports in Pearland. Great group of guys, awesome tuning and knowledge, and you guys laid down a great 203+mph half mile pass.

Just an FYI. I went with 23psi in the rears, and 41psi in the front tires today. Started that way and kept it that way through the 4 runs. I have quite a bit of learning to do, but if they keep it a half mile next event, I'm going to add 50-75hp, raise the rev limiter 300rpm, and get a slightly taller tire(.5 inches). I think that will get 180mph in the 1/2 mile.
It hauled a$$ and survived to drive it home..

Man I can't believe you can run 173 mph in 4th.. I do good to run 173mph in 5th before my 6600 limiter came in.. (C5Z tranny)
You should set it up to run the Mile in October... Then you can really haul a$$.

Car didn't officialy do 173, just 171.5, but I'm sure it was around there at some point bouncing off the limiter for a fraction of a second. Car moves very well considering the conditions that we had. Should rocket with the 2200 and C16 tune. 6 rib for the win.
After running down Beeville(not in this car), and running this track, I won't ever run Beeville again. I'll stick to the side by side racing in Dallas, or just run the Mile if I ever get the itch to here. Night and Day difference in the track. The Texas Mile will be a thing of the past when this thing goes to a full 1 mile event, which it will the next time.
www.texasspeedsyndicate.com is where all the real racing goes down.
It will be awesome if they start running 1 Mile in Houston.. I heard the lay out in Houston is not conducive to spectators though and the PA/speed boards are non existent.. Hopefully they will put effort into improving the event like the Tx Mile has for the last 10 years.
It's awesome to have something this close to home though.
One thing about 1/2 mile is its a LOT easier on the engine.... As opposed to having it wot for 30 secs line in a mile..
One of the datalogs from my 1 mile race on my turbo bike showed being wot in 6th, full boost (16psi) at over 10,000 rpms and climbing for 11 secs...
Talk about loading one down....lolYes I'm on TSS and I went to the 2012 Invitational with Blownbluez06 back a few weeks ago.. Awesome event..

Arnold, yes, it is a lot better than Beeville. It is an active military runway, Airforce one lands on it when they come in to Houston and it the heavy lifting runway for C5, C17's etc if I am not mistaken. The first part of the track is really no different traction wise. That first transition at Beeville that is at the 1/4 mark is non existant here, so you don't have to deal with that. Then on the top end, I didn't feel like the car was moving around like it does at Beeville(granted I'm talking about 2 different cars since I haven't run my own car at Beeville). You also do not have to deal with the other transitions from crossing over the next runway right at shutdown. The one bad thing that I can see here, is if you go off the runway, it better be in the right spot. Down both sides of the runway are those 1 1/2 foot metal landing lights that are thick and concreted in to the ground probably real deep and line the runway on both sides. Hate to hit one of those sideways where the cab is, it wouldn't be pretty.
You can see when the sun came up a bit more, on this 170.5MPH pass, I am still spinning at the top of 3rd and going in to 4th at 130mph.
I almost hope they keep it a half mile race, easier on the engines, great track, and we get to run drag radials, etc. I think with the Novi 2200, going back down to the 275/40 tire, I think 180mph is doable since I'll be in full boost in 5th gear.
