Default Halltech vs vararam

I would like to start off by saying I DO NOT HAVE A DOG IN THIS RACE!!!!!

The specs to my car are list in my sig.

I have run the Vararam snake charmer for some time now and my car has a great deal of dyno pulls with this intake and my mods so I know what my numbers are. After installing my 102 fast intake I was looking for more ways to increase the air into my 416 and it was suggested to me again and again that I get the Halltech MF107 Super Bee. I must admit I was against it because I did not want to spend the money on another freaking intake but I gave in and told them to make the switch. After they installed the intake they put it on the dyno and the results, 15rwhp/18rwtq peak gains and the entire curve shifted up.

Like I said I have no reason to push one system or the other because I paid for both of them anyway, I just wanted to pass on what I saw for myself and know to be a fact.

Hosted the dyno for you. Thanks for the information. We see the same increase on the LS7 as well:

Wow, those are impressive gains for a simple intake change.
Btw I have a Halltech but have never dynoed the car.

But I thought the Vararam worked best at high speed where air was being pushed in.

Dyno results would not show this effect.

I use a Halltech on my C6 and would never use a Vararam on my car as it is a DD.

Wow, it’s amazing to see how many people forget that they have to get the VR moving for full power as has been confirmed by data logs from independent tuners around the world for 10 yrs. . . Most cars will see another 20-30hp through a ¼ mile, NOT the Dyno. This added power comes from the higher velocity air flow which is intercooling your induction system all the way through to your intake manifold. This increased MAF flow rate beyond vacuum alone, allows the ECM or tuner to run maximum commanded or higher timing than what can be achieved on a Dyno.
If you wanted full power from a custom stroked engine combination on a Dyno, you should have simply contacted VR direct. We would have set you up with a 102mm MAF and airbox tail combination to match your other 102MM components used in your stroked engine combination.

Look I am not trying to bash anyones product I am just posting the results from my intake change. I run my car at the 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile so I will post up if there is a loss in performance. The main reason for my change was to see if the vararam snake charmer is disrupting the air flow into my radiator and causing higher water temps.

No one said you are bashing anything...calm down. It is what it is....enjoy that Halltech. Used by Katech and Pratt/Miller.

Doesn't the Halltech leave the stock shroud alone? If so that is a major sell point also.

I read the VR literature on the snake charmer for the LS-2 C6...I currently have a stock c6 air intake and I am considering having it installed on my 2006 c6 LS2, than having the car tuned and dyno'd...Will the VR snake charmer system perform better by also installing the power wedge?....VR claims 100% satisfaction guaranteed or you money back...Im willing to give that a shot...any suggestions?

Does this mean that in order to get that power increase a car with a Vararam has to be tuned on the street/strip at WOT?
