Default Vettes and Jets on the Lex 2013 INFO

The registration begins on 01 Apr 2013 via the web site registration page www.vettesandjets.org The hotels will be available for booking beginning the first week of January and you must contact the hotels directly (Radisson 361-883-9700, Quality Inn 361-883-7456 and the Omni Bayfront 361-880-6738) to get the Vettes and Jets rate. The event is a 2-day event with loading on Saturday at 5am and unloading Sunday at 5pm. We will have all kinds of fun and patriotic events throughout both days. The cost is $125 per Corvette and this includes to wrist bands for the weekend for the ship, 2 commemorative t-shirts, a certificate for the car, 2 event dog tags and a goodie bag. All proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project to help and aid injured Veterans and their families. Please remember this is a rain or shine event!!! No refunds will be issued due to weather or no shows. All proceeds will be donated to the WWP. Many new things have been added to this years event. Please feel free to visit our new web page at www.vettesandjets.org and read about the event and schedules. As new things become available we will be updating the site so please check back from time to time. The 2013 event will be hosted by the South Texas Corvette club.
Thank you all for your support. Without all of you and the volunteers this event would not be possible.
Maverick

This is a must do event for anyone that hasn't attended one. This will be my 3rd event to participate in and until the old girls elevator stops working will sign up for every event in the future. Some pictures from 2011...

We brought a second car, so we would have transportation for the two days the Corvette was on the Lexington.

The hotels listed are walking distance from the Lexington. Plus there are several eating places nearby so everything is walking distance from the Lex..

This event sounds like fun but I can't stand congestion, mob scenes, and waiting in line at restaurants. Like to hear from those who have been...is it like this??

No not at all. This will be my 3rd time going and each time it gets better and better. From the time you load till you unload this event is like no other Corvette you will ever attend. Just to have pictures taken of your car on the flight deck of a US Navy Aircraft Carrier is well worth $125 in my book..

All the Hotels are within walking distance, except the Omni, Ive stayed at the Omni and they have a shuttle van. Its only across the bridge!

If not, a cab will probably be a 7.00 to 10.00 ride!

Yes everything but the Omni is walking distance and we will again have a shuttle that runs once every hour from the Lex to the Omni hotel. We try our best to accommodate everyone and make the event as enjoyable as we can. We have never had any complaints about mob scenes or long lines. We are sure that you will enjoy yourself and it's for a great cause too.

Okay, another question.

How is the registration done?

Is it something you print and mail in or is it an online submission?

Thanks again to all!

Yes you print, fill out and sign the registration and mail it in with your check or money order payment made out to Vettes and Jets. We do not do the Paypal or credit card thing due to the 2% to 3% service charges. The registration form will be available starting 01 April 2013 via our web site at www.vettesandjets.org
Thank you all for your support!
