The only thing I can think to add is in 2011 you could get the F55 magnetic suspension as an option, so the shocks change from the info above, if you have that option on your GS.
That's what my build sheet says ...we thought that the GS was a bargain with the same basic suspension and braking as the Z compared to the price of the Z06 ... just a little less HP - for now ...until the warranty is up.
However, the springs are Z51 ... the Z06 springs have a higher Lb rate.
I read that, but they use the Z06 shock and sway bar on the front with the Z51 spring, so why change the rear shock, what did they do to change the shock valving and why?
Are the setups the same between the MN6 Vs auto Vs convertible?
Then why don't all "Z16" optioned cars have the Dry Sump oil system, if they are all the same?
My best friend has a 2010 G.S. but dose not have the dry sump and his battery is up front.
Just wondering.

Only manual coupes have the dry sump and rear battery.
Z16 package was the callout for a GS which included some parts from the Z06 parts bins as well as the Z51 parts bins as the OP pointed out. Convertibles did not include the wet sump engine or rear battery location. MZ6 cars included the transmission and differential coolers for both coupe and convertible.

The dry sumps were installed in what GM deemed as trackable Vettes. Grand Sports (Z16) with automatics and/or convertables were not deemed as trackable Vettes, thus no dry sump.
In the C7 world everthing has changed, ie; you can get a Z51 dry sump auto, and worse yet a dry sump Z06 vert WITH auto.

pretty sure the c-7 verts are not track rated.......they have no cooling vents over rear tires........
How do you identify a genuine C6 Grand Sport? Sure, the car comes with unique body panels and trim items, but those can be installed on any C6 Corvette and unlike the 96, the C6 GS does not have a unique VIN sequence and can be had in multiple colors. But after some diligent research, the GSR has found that you CAN identify a genuine C6 GS by the 5th character in the VIN. Unlike the '96, there's a mess of possible variations. Here are the VIN 5th character variants current as of 2013:
