Can I add a Z06 diff cooler to my DTE C6 Z51 diff? If so, what do I need besides the cooler?

I know it's not quite the same thing, but I converted my '08 Z51 to a fully-functional Z06 diff with cooler. You might be able to change the cover to the Z06/GS part and buy the heat exchanger and needed lines. The transmission cooler lines are different with the diff cooler (diff is cooled by trans fluid), so you'd need the transmission cooler lines off a Z06/GS as well.
I got all my parts off an extremely low mileage Z06, and was able to swap all the parts I needed. That made the conversion really easy. Trying to convert a standard C6 diff makes things a little trickier.
I'm guessing your car is a manual? What rear gears are you running? If 3.42, you might just be better off selling your diff for a Z06 or ZR1 diff. I'm not sure how much stronger they are than a built C6 diff, but you get the benefit of the bigger ring gear and a factory-built diff.
I kind of figured I would need diff lines to the trans but I wasn't sure how I would tie the two together. I have already put a lot of money into converting my T56 to TR6060 internals and the C6 diff is a stage 5 DTE with 3.73 ring and pinion. I guess it really boils down to whether or not the Z06 rear diff cover will work on a C6 diff.
Thanks for your input Rick. It looks like it's a little more involved than I thought. I was hoping it would be a straight parts swap and an addition of some others.

Just so you know it's not a cooler. It is in fact a heat exchanger. The differential fluid changes heat with the transmission fluid. If you want a true cooler, I would suggest using the rear pump/cover and run AN-6 lines to a true cooler/radiator mounted somewhere on the rear of the car.

Yeah, I considered that last night as I was thinking about the fact that the transmission and differential fluids are entirely different animals.
