Default How's the C7 interior room compared to C6-5? Everyone fit okay?

I'm thinking seriously of moving up to a C7 but need to have at least as much interior space as my C6 coupe. I'm 6'1", 240 lbs and find it very comfortable even for long road trips.

I can't seem to find any dimensional data on either the C6 or 7. The cargo area definitely looks smaller than my C6.

Do you previous C5 and C6 owners find the C7 is as roomy inside? Any one feel cramped?

Thanks in advance.

Have seen many, many threads on this topic so if you search you will find all the opinions you want to read. But since I visited Criswell yesterday and sat in my first C7, I will give you my opinion. I had 3 C6's, 1 C5 and 3 C4's. The C7 appears to be a little tighter fit. I was still comfortable but not as much width as previous generations. I sat in both the competition and GT seats and found the competition seats to be very tight for me as I am 220 pounds. I also found that I had to push the seat all the way back in the C7 where I would not in my C6's as I am only 5'10". Dealers now have inventory so you just need to take the time to try it for yourself. I will say that I loved the new interior and cannot go back to a C6 now that I have seen how much nicer the C7 is.

I spent some time driving one the other night thanks to a buddy of mine. Now he is 6ft 215 +/- and I am 6'5 270. I have a 40in waist and VERY large barrel chest. I wear a 52L suit coat. I am more NFL TE wide then beer belly dude.

I have zero issues in the C6, I found the C7 to be very snug in the seats. The quality of the seats are much better in the C7. I maxed out the leg room. recline, and I don't think it had lumbar support or I would have maxed that out too. If I were able to afford one I would be in a quandry of putting seat comfort over ride comfort. The car is just AMAZING to drive SOOOO much nicer then a C6 which is no slouch. My head was very close to the roof infact when I looked up thru the glass my hat brim hit the glass.

I see that they offer several models of seats, I would try to get some seat time in EVERY available model and see what fits you best.

I am 6'3" 220lbs and fit very comfortably. The adjustable seat bolsters are a must. I can lock out my legs while driving, have an ample amount of head room. I have been ver surprised how comfortable and spacious the car is. I came from a large truck as well.

While the exterior is wider the inside seems to be a bit tighter. They definitely hold you better and are a bit more comfortable

More room in a C5, I sat in the passenger seat of my C7 a couple of weeks ago, no nearly the same as it was in my C5.

How 'bout that - hard data! They are practically identical inside.

I think the main difference is the bolsters. Taller bolsters in the hip and side area would make it seem narrower and fit more snug. Of course the one complaint a lot of people had about the c6 was a lack of bolstering.

That is really interesting to see how close they are dimensionally because they feel very different.

I am in the same size boat as you 6 4 280 with long legs and not fat but I'm a size 15 wearing big dude, and I can say the room in the c7 IS discouraging me from purchasing one. The car is incredible but if I had to drive it more than 20 minutes I would be uncomfortable. The c6 was the ultimate sports car for a big guy in my opinion and they dropped the ball by "tightening" the interior on the c7. The seats were big complaints on the c6 but why they gave the c7 much less legroom is beyond me. Try it for yourself as I think being 6 2 or shorter you would fit in this car fine.

I'm 6', 215# and while I haven't driven a C7 I have sat in one. I felt the c7 was a little more snug. Seemed the center console was a bit wider than my C6 and maybe a tad higher. The seat bottom fit okay, but the seat back was snug across my shoulders.

Very helpful. Thank you. Can't argue with numbers.

I sat in my neighbors C7 and then went across the street to my place and sat in my C6 and it did feel the same in legroom and headroom.

I think why the cabin feels smaller is the center console/mid dash protrudes much further into the cabin. While it improves the human factors of the driver operating the car, it definitely eats into the cabin space.

I think chuber1986 is right. If you're 6'4" it could be a show stopper. At 6'1" I can live with it. If I want a little more room, I could always go on a diet.

I suspect this is part of the overall GM strategy for the car. Reach a younger more diverse demographic. Younger guys are generally trimmer guys. And women are generally smaller too.

Finally had a chance to sit in a C7 at a local dealer today. I'm 6'...185...so about average. Compared to my C5....the C7 interior is very tight. I love the way the GT seats and interior wrap around the driver.

I can definitely see where a large man--- 6'4"...225 plus... might feel squeezed.

However, for me....I feel like I'm back in the cockpit and ready for take-off!

My c7 was cramped to me! I could only drive about an hour and I was ready to get out of it. my c5 and c6 I could drive for many hours without needing a stretch. The c7 is so nice I thought about putting up with the size. I don't think I could wear a helmet in the c7 with the seat all the way back as my head was close to the bpillar on the left side.

At 6'1" you should be fine...I am 6'6" and 230...my knees hit but your height should be fine.

I dont care what the data says, they must be using different reference points. Im built like a football player. Im 6ft 255, 40 waist. but I have very broad shoulders 54 jacket. The center console is tighter to the drivers seat. leg room is tight but livable. My problem is that my left arm and shoulder are touching the door panel and my right arm touched the console. Its very tight, as is headroom. This was with the seat all the way down and back. I cant purchase a c7, its just not comfortable.
