The rumor started because the FLEET cutoff is March 26.

The order cutoff for fleet is March 26th (which is why the fleet website says that). The order cutoff for regular customer retail orders is not until April 23rd for Stingray, and April 16th for Z06.

Your dealer will have a constraints report which will indicate if they can order a Z51.

If they are honest they will tell you if your order will go through or not.

Just going by what we read on 'arifleet.com/publications start up dates. They also listed end dates for the 2015 runs.

We were not aware that the information was incorrect.

Dave, can you explain how the ordering for the 2016 cars is going to work? Start date for submission, etc.?

No worries! I never look at the fleet info since it doesn't really pertain to me. I just suddenly started getting frantic calls 2 weeks ago!

Happy to help!

We will actually be able to place 2016 orders starting 4/16/15. Before you get too excited, that just means you can get an order to Event Code 1100 and we all know that really doesn't mean much.

Dealers will get their initial consensus on May 1st and the first DSOP (when the factory will start pulling orders) will be 5/14/15. That means that if you get in on the first DSOP you'll probably be at Event Code 2500 05/20/15.

Actual production starts on June 22, 2015.

Now, other things to keep in mind. If first orders are accepted on 04/16 that means we should get the order guide a week or two before that.

Also, don't expect to see pricing until June. Even though we are actually placing orders to get pulled in mid-May, we usually end up ordering the first few weeks of orders not knowing what the prices are for the car.

Lastly, don't expect to be driving your 2016 in July. Just because the production will start 06/22 that doesn't mean there won't be a quality batch hold. Plus, if the factory has it's normal 2 week shut down in early July, they probably won't get much built before that.

Having said all of that, it's not that far off if you decide you want to get a 2016 over a 2015!

Mine said I would have to order trans roof for this week's allocation. I passed as I ordered before price increase so would make it $2k more for that option. Hopefully they will get another allocation in April for solid roof. But it is confirmed that this week is NOT last week to place 2015 order. That will be last week of April.

Lets say the solid roof is at 30% and a dealer in the zone gets it but the car they order the customer wants a glass top they turn it down. Now if your dealer enters your order it may get picked up.

One other thing I found my dealer was waiting to get a car with the expose carbon fiber top but for two months he couldn't get it. He called the district GM sales rep. The rep told him I will give you an unrestricted car to build with your allocation. Problem solve and was able to get a car for a sold order built.

I wish my dealer would contact the rep for it. I pleaded with him to do that and he refused saying it wouldn't matter. Thing is they probably have someone else behind me interested in clear roof so is taking the sure thing order.

My best friend owns a Chevy store. They get about 40 new Corvettes a year. He told me I have 6 sold orders and everybody wants something on constraint. He said 4 orders were Z-51, one was solid roof, and one for the exposed carbon fiber roof.

He got the Z-51's after waiting 2 months, but the other two were always on constraint. His zone rep told him the expose cf roof there were 78 available for that week consensus. He said some will turn it down so use your allocation for it and it should get picked up. He did that and the order got picked up.

The rep told him I will give you an unrestricted car to build with your next allocation and he did.

Your dealer is lazy or doesn't get along with his rep.

What i dont understand is how GM can fail so badly to make solid roofs. of course 90% of the people want the solid roofs. they should have accounted for that demand IMO. now the Z51 is understandable because lots of people do not get it.
